my friends boyfriend keeps telling her that tha women pregnant with his baby still has not had it…and it has been 11months that she has been pregnant..is it possible that the baby could still be safely in her after 11months or has she really had it and he lien 2 my friend?
Chosen Answer:
there are not many of these answers that are completely right, the placenta doesn’t stop working at 40 weeks nor does it result in death to mother and baby – it is quite scary that the woman that wrote hat says she is a nurse i just hope she doesn’t look after me!! but the placenta isn’t as efficient the more time goes on which means that the baby may not get as much as it needs (oxygen and nourishment) the more time goes on this only tends to happen after 42 weeks (10.5 months) but does depend on the woman, the longest I have heard a woman safely carrying a baby for is 43 weeks which if you work it out works out to be (11 months) – Also note though that the way the hospitals work out how many weeks pregnant you are may be different from you or I. So in answer! it IS possible depending on how they are working out her dates of conception!!

Somebody is either lying or has screwed up her due dates. Even if it was possible, no doctor would let a woman go that far overdue.
A doctor would not allow her to go past 42 weeks (10.5 months).
There is ZERO chance of that happening. ZERO. The doctor would induce by then.
the first answer is so wrong do you remember the baby who was in the womb for like 2 years some go as far as four which is pretty gross lol
I doubt that woman has been pregnant for 11 months
After 42 weeks of pregnancy (9 1/2 months), doctors will often opt to induce labor bacause the placenta doesnt work well enough after 42 weeks. If this women has been pregnant for 11 months, her baby is likely not alive. Theres no way an 11 months old placenta can deliver enough oxygen to the baby.. Sorry, but he’s probably lying..
no way,the placenta starts breaking down after 40weeks and stops working resulting in death of both mother and baby
Ummmm sure, that’s wrong. Not possible.
If she is, she has to go to the doctor STAT
The easiest way to explain this is that basically your placenta which gives all the nutrients to the baby is only designed to last for a max of 42 weeks. It then starts to deteriorate which can obviously harm the baby. The girl is lying. Medically they would not allow her to be pregnant past 42 weeks. Make sure he gets a dna test to prove it is not his.
After 40 weeks the amount of fluid in the womb as well as the performance of the placenta start to deteriorate….some times before 40 weeks….the most a doctor can let you go is 42 weeks because for one when you get a due date it is not exact..they say to give or take a week on your due date…second the last month of you pregnancy the baby can gain up to 2.5 pounds in weight per week….third if your baby is gaining 2.5 pounds the wont be enough room left after 42 weeks…and forth the bigger the baby the more oxygen he/she will need and the placenta wont be able to keep up with its needs. No this is not possible either someone is lying or someone needs to find a new doctor because that would put both baby and mommy at risk.

This is impossible. The doctor would induce at 42 weeks regardless of the situation.
thats unhealthy for mom and baby both
This is in no way possible. No doctor will allow a woman to go passed 42 weeks. Also, the placenta begins to breakdown and therefore resulting in death for the baby and possibly the mother.
Why would he lie about something like that? She must’ve had the baby, or she was lying about being pregnant with his child, or the dates have been completely mucked up, which i doubt the doctors mucked up her dates by 2months.
The minute you’re overdue (40weeks1day) the doctor will schedule an induction, they do NOT let you go past 2 weeks of being overdue. It can kill mother and baby. The baby starts bowel movement from this time and that can seriously effect both healths, the placenta etc starts to break down too as that’s only designed to last for 42weeks.
So someone is lying here, either the guy or the woman who’s having his child.
PS – Why is everyone being thumbed down? They’re all telling the truth.
