Do you think most people will start to refer to the year as 20 10 rather than 2,010 in a few months from now?

as for next year, it sounds a lot better to say twenty eleven rather than 2 thousand 11, as well as the years after that. Also for 2000-2009, do you think people will look back and say 20 oh something( 20 oh 1, 20 oh 9) or just stay with the two thousand for just that decade?

Chosen Answer:

Sometimes I don’t even notice it, but I think I’m drifting towards twenty-ten. I’m sure it’ll catch on, though. Definitely by 2011 everyone will be saying “twenty-eleven.” Two-thousand-and-eleven is simply too many syllables. It’s simple phonoaesthetics.

I already say twenty-ten. I think we’ll probably always say two-thousand-nine, though. Just habit.
