what is 4-2-4. 4-3-3. 5-4-1 4-4-2 , formations in soccer . i thought it was eleven a side?

Chosen Answer:

The goalie is not counted in the formation. A 4-4-2 is 4 defenders 4 midfielders and 2 strikers. It’s just common sense that every team has a goalie.

    4-2-4 = 4 defence, 2 midfield, 4 forwards
    4-3-3 = 4 defence, 3 midfield, 3 forwards
    5-4-1 = 5 defence, 4 midfield, 1 striker
    4-4-2 = 4 defence, 4 midfield, 2 strikers

The goalie is not counted in the format.

you don’t count the goal keeper. he or she is not a goalie. 4-2-4 is four full back, two midfielders and four forwards. you start at back and go up. I always used 3-3-4 in youth league. how ever as the team got older, we need more defense. 4-3-3 is good. you nee4d speed on defense and good accurate passers at mid field and strong agressive forwards.

LOL……adding on to what others say…goalie not included cos they can’t stay anywhere else and there will always be one goal.

  8. Stefcho says:

    Thats 10 + the goalie = 11

  9. Tell says:

In terms of formation the keeper is not counted. It is an eleven a side game during play, unless someone is send off or gets injured and cannot be replaced due to his team used all the substitution during the game already.
