Then i’d have to hire someone to take care of the 2 eleven year old girls.

it depends how mature they are and which types of responsibilities they have.
it can also depend on how old your children are and how many there are.

Well, it just depends. I was babysitting when I was eleven, being the youngest of 7 I had lot’s of nieces and nephews, even more now, lol. However, I was more mature than the average eleven year old bc of my older siblings, I was exposed to things at a very early age so I agree, it def. depends on the maturity of the babysitters. I actually have a niece and 2 nephews that are 11, that are all like a couple months apart, and I would definitely let my niece babysit and I would let one of my nephews babysit bc he has a little sister that is 3 and he is great with her and very responsible. The other one is just not that mature at all, he’s a great kid he just hasn’t really been around many kids that much younger than him and I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving him responsible for any ones kid. Ten bucks is a decent price though, I still babysit for one of my sisters while i’m still in college, and she pays me 8 dollars an hour for a 3-year old all day and then I pick her older brothers up from school and they are 9 and 11. So, my advice would be to get to know the girls first and then make your judgment However, I don’t have any children myself but I do have some pretty fanatical sisters when it comes to their children, and they let me babysit at that age, but then again I was family and they have known me my whole life as well. So its your call your kids, I would personally invite them over and see how they are with your kid/kids before doing it.

Ten dollars an hour is the general fair rate for babysitting. I wouldn’t base the rate on age – they’re doing the same amount of work so give them the same rate as you would older girls.

However, I don’t think eleven year olds should be babysitting. It’s your call, they’re watching your kids, but I would have someone babysitting my eleven year old daughter (if I had one) if I had to go out, let alone have another eleven year old watch my child.
